| Mr. Hanno specializes in counseling
clients on matters pertaining to the telecommunications infrastructure
industry. He represents clients from all sectors of the industry, including
those that rent real property to tower owners, those that seek to collocate
on towers and rooftops, those that own towers and rooftops, and those that
manage towers and rooftops. His diverse range of clients has provided him
with a unique insight and understanding of the industry. At the federal
level Mr. Hanno advises clients on compliance with OSHA, FAA, and FCC regulations.
On the state and local levels, he advises clients on zoning issues and
consultation with SHPOs. He has conducted numerous tower valuations for
the purpose of estate planning, sale, and investment considerations and
has conducted various audits for the purposes of sale, increasing revenue,
and risk management. Mr. Hanno has also drafted and negotiated ground leases,
site leases, management agreements, and sale agreements. He is the Regulatory Consultant to SITE Management and Technology and the author of a column in that publication entitled “Aerial Advocate.” He has also published articles in Mobile Radio Technology. Mr. Hanno has been a featured speaker on contractual, regulatory, transactional, and financial matters affecting the tower industry before the International Wireless Communications Expo, Small Business in Telecommunications, and the Wireless Infrastructure Association Conference & Expo. He also sits on the Wireless Infrastructure Association’s Education Committee. The legal profession is a second career for Mr. Hanno, who served in the U.S. Navy for eight years achieving the rank of Petty Officer First Class (E-6). His rating was that of a Cryptological Technician specializing in the collection and analysis of Electronic Intelligence and he has extensive formal training in the areas of Electronic Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Signals Intelligence. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Hanno worked as a defense contractor for five years on various projects for the National Reconnaissance Office and the Naval Research Laboratory. He has approximately 2000 flight hours onboard EP-3E and P-3C platforms participating in special collection efforts in the Mediterranean, Baltic, North Atlantic, and Persian Gulf. Some of his many service awards and recognitions include the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Naval Aircrewman Wings. Mr. Hanno has provided pro bono services to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on matters pertaining to the AMBER Plan (America’s Missing Broadcast Emergency Response), and to clients before the Maryland District Court on landlord/tenant matters and the Prince George’s County Office of Social Services on family law matters. |
